Over 150 people attended our Big Read kick off on March 15, 2008. It was held at East Los Angeles library with participation by the California State University, Los Angeles and East Los Angeles College. After enjoying a boxed lunch the community of East Los Angeles enjoyed the lecture by Dr. Cantu, "La Santa Tierra: Land, History, and the Sacred in Bless Me, Ultima, by Rudolfo A. Anaya".

If you are a student at East Los Angeles College, visit The Big Read information table at the Helen Miller Bailey library. You can also participate in the Art Contest and enter your art inspired by the novel Bless me, Ultima. Prizes will be awarded on April 19, 2008 at East Los Angeles Library.
